FAQs
Starting a new therapy or wellbeing programme can naturally bring questions, especially if you’ve never experienced hypnotherapy or reflexology before.
Below, you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions about menopause support, sessions, and what to expect.
General menopause support
Can reflexology and hypnotherapy work together?
Yes. Hypnotherapy and reflexology can complement each other beautifully during menopause by supporting both mind and body. While hypnotherapy focuses on emotional wellbeing, thought patterns, relaxation, and resilience, reflexology helps calm the nervous system and encourages deep physical relaxation.
Can I have sessions alongside HRT?
Yes. Many women choose to use hypnotherapy and reflexology alongside HRT as part of a more integrated and supportive approach to menopause care.
Does it matter what stage of menopause I’m at?
No. Support is tailored to your individual experience, whether you’re in perimenopause, menopause, post-menopause, or if you’ve experienced premature or induced menopause due to surgery or medical treatments.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on your symptoms, goals, and personal circumstances. Some women benefit from standalone reflexology sessions, while others prefer a more structured programme covering both types of therapies for ongoing support. That’s why I’ve created multi-session programmes that you can explore further on the Prices Page.
Generally, I recommend you have multiple sessions and complete the full programmes. This allows me to adopt a holistic and integrated approach with you.
Hypnotherapy FAQs
How can hypnotherapy help me with menopause symptoms?
Hypnotherapy can help you reconnect with your body in a calmer and more supportive way. Through relaxation, visualisation, and positive thought patterns, it can support greater mind-body awareness and help you feel more balanced emotionally and physically.
Many women seek support for symptoms such as stress, overwhelm, poor sleep, confidence changes, and emotional exhaustion.
Can hypnotherapy help with low mood or anxiety?
Yes. Some women seek out HypnoMenopause® because of physical symptoms, while others are looking for support with emotional changes during midlife.
Can hypnotherapy be used as an alternative to HRT?
Every woman’s experience is different. While some women use hypnotherapy alongside HRT, others seek it out as an alternative or additional source of support.
Research has shown clinical hypnosis may significantly reduce the frequency and severity of menopausal hot flushes, with some studies reporting reductions of up to 74%.
How does hypnotherapy work?
Hypnotherapy uses a deeply relaxed and focused state of awareness to help support positive thought patterns and behaviours. By combining talking therapy with hypnosis, sessions encourage relaxation, emotional resilience, and lasting positive change.
Is hypnotherapy safe?
Yes, hypnotherapy is safe. It’s a natural process where you remain fully in control throughout the session; you can move, speak, and open your eyes at any time. Many people find the experience deeply relaxing and enjoyable.
What if I can’t be hypnotised?
If you’ve ever been really engrossed in a good book or spent some time getting lost in a daydream, you have the capacity to reach a state of mind which is right for you. Clients who experience the greatest transformations are those who are motivated, regardless of whether or not they’re highly hypnotisable.
Is hypnotherapy regulated?
In the UK, hypnotherapy is not subject to statutory regulation. However, I hold the nationally recognised Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma (HPD), benchmarked against Ofqual standards, and commit to ongoing professional training, supervision, and ethical practice.
What happens during a hypnotherapy session?
The first step is a 15-minute free discovery call during which I’ll answer any questions you have and establish whether HypnoMenopause® is the right approach for you.
During sessions, I use a combination of guided meditations and powerful therapeutic tools mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), to help you create change.

Reflexology FAQs
How can reflexology help with menopause symptoms?
Reflexology offers a calming and supportive approach to menopause by helping the body and mind relax during a time of significant hormonal and emotional change.
Many women choose reflexology to help support symptoms such as stress, poor sleep, tension, emotional overwhelm, and feelings of imbalance.
What happens during a reflexology session?
Once you’re comfortable on the treatment couch, your session begins with a gentle cleanse of your feet. I’ll then use soothing massage techniques to help you relax and settle.
The reflexology treatment involves applying precise pressure to specific reflex points linked to different areas of your body, helping to calm the nervous system and ease menopause symptoms.
What does reflexology feel like?
Everyone experiences reflexology differently. Many clients describe feeling deeply relaxed, calmer, lighter, or more emotionally balanced after a session.
As different reflex points are worked, you may notice sensations such as warmth, tingling, tiredness, or emotional release as your body begins to slow down and unwind.
How will I feel after treatment?
Many clients notice a greater sense of calm and relaxation. You may also experience improved sleep, mental clarity, increased energy, or a sense of emotional release.
Any effects following treatment are usually gentle, completely normal, and typically settle within 24 to 48 hours. Following your treatment, I recommend drinking plenty of water to support hydration and your body’s natural processes.
